For the second year in a row, and due to the high level of performance displayed by River Plate throughout the year, Marcelo Gallardo came first in the survey that chooses the best manager in the Americas.

El Muñeco received 216 votes (58%) against the 133 (36%) votes gained by Jorge Jesus, head coach of Flamengo. The Spanish Miguel Ángel Ramírez, who became the champion of the South American Cup with Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle, came third.

If Gallardo wins first place again in 2020, he will match José Pekerman, who is the only manager so far who has won it three times.
