Marcelo Gallardo’s team created chances to score against Godoy Cruz, but the match ended in a goalless draw on Matchday 5 of the Torneo Apertura.

River visited Godoy Cruz after a solid win over Independiente. Gallardo made several changes to the lineup, giving other players a chance to start. The first half was tight, with few clear opportunities, but the goalkeepers responded well whenever they were tested.

In the second half, River had the clearest chances through Gonzalo Martínez, who came off the bench and led the team’s attacks. Franco Armani was reliable in goal, denying dangerous shots from Vicente Poggi and Gonzalo Abrego. Despite pressing until the final whistle, River couldn’t secure all three points.

River’s packed fixture list continues with a home game against Lanús this Sunday at the Mâs Monumental stadium for Matchday 6 of the Torneo Apertura.
