Argentine Cup: the champion’s first rival River Plate already knows against which team it will play first in the new edition of the tournament it has won three times: Entre Rios’ Defensores del Pronunciamiento.

On Thursday, January 30th, the Argentine Cup round of 32 draw took place at the AFA premises in Ezeiza. River Plate, current champion of the tournament, will have its debut against Entre Rios’ Defensores del Pronunciamiento, with date, time and place yet to be confirmed.

Marcelo Gallardo’s team, if they make it to the next round, will play against the winner of the match between Atlético Tucumán and Comunicaciones.

El Millionario won the Argentine Cup, last December, after beating Santiago del Estero’s Central Córdoba 3-0 in the final match, with goals scored by Ignacio Scocco, Nacho Fernández and Julián Álvarez. The other titles were won in 2016 and 2017.
